“Natural medicine lends itself very well to providing the nutrients and environment for the body to heal itself. Since menopause is a process rather than a disease process, herbal medicine simply facilitates a smooth transition through the gentle balancing of hormones.”
Dr. Shannon Trainor
Dr. Trainor was born and raised in Vancouver, and then embarked on an adventurous six-year medical program in Ireland. Upon returning to Canada, Dr. Trainor worked in rural Manitoba before coming home to Vancouver. She is a North American Menopause Society-certified menopause practitioner and has studied with the Institute for Functional Medicine. After cutting gluten out of her own diet more than 10 years ago, Dr. Trainor is excited to work with patients on improving their own lifestyles and well-being through a combination of conventional and integrative medicine models. Outside of the office, Dr. Trainor enjoys a balanced life that includes yoga, meditation, weightlifting, family time, and enjoying each day to the fullest.
